Quinton Disera

How did you get started in mountain biking?

I started riding just with my family back when we lived in Bradford. But got into racing by one of my brothers friends at Hardwood Ski and Bike.

What do you like most about mountain biking?

I love the adrenaline rush from the down hills, the limits that I can push on the bike, but the social aspects are definitely one of the best parts! The cycling community is such a tight knit group of people! And I love getting on a bike and being able to become one with it. Cycling has become one of my best friends and passion in my life; when I’m riding my bike, everything feels like it’s the way it should be, no stress and tons of fun!

What was the first mountain bike you owned?

The first mountain bike that I owned was a tiny CCM. I barely remember it since it was so long ago.

What kind of bike do you ride now?

Norco Revolver FS 650B

What is your favourite place in Ontario to ride?

It’s a hard thing to have favourites! Riding at so many different places, and every place having something special to offer. I have never found myself ever saying “I really didn’t like that place…” and that’s just because every place you go always has some sort of awesome riding! But if I had to pick, I love the Copeland Forest because it is basically my backyard and has awesome trails!

What was your first race?

My first race was a Wednesday Night at Hardwood Ski and Bike. One Wednesday, my mom, brother and I went out to try it, and after that we found ourselves addicted to the machines that we call bikes. It was like magic.
